The following two emails below were received from "SEVP (The Student and Exchange Visitor Program) the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program that administers the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). It ensures that government agencies have essential data related to nonimmigrant students and exchange visitors to preserve national security. SEVP provides approval and oversight to schools authorized to enroll F and M nonimmigrant students and gives guidance to both schools and students about the requirements for maintaining their status.” University officials are required by law to adhere to all SEVP laws and policies.

Below is a flier that was put around the chemistry department by an unknown student. This student wrote to the US ambassador of China, Terry Edward Branstad, asking if it were true that students on an F-1 visa could have their visa forfeited if we were to go on strike. Terry E. Branstad confirmed this student's fears and made it quite clear that we should vote no for all of our international student's sake.
