Welcome to WashU Nephrology

WashU Nephrology Welcomes April King, Our New Manager of Financial Operations, and Says Goodbye to Jamie Hager

April King, new Manager of Financial Operations for WashU Nephrology dialysis centers.

The Division of Nephrology welcomes April King as our new Manager of Financial Operations overseeing our dialysis centers. She joined the division on February 1, 2021.

April has an extensive background in billing and management. She has been with WashU since 2007, working in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Physicians Billing Services. She received her bachelor’s degree in healthcare management at WashU and is currently working on her master’s in nonprofit management here as well.  April is currently working with Jamie Hager, who is retiring from the financial operations position on March 5.

During her free time, and when she’s not studying, April likes to travel (when possible), shopping (of course!), cooking, and binge-watching shows on Netflix.

“I am happy to be joining the Nephrology team and am excited about my new venture as Financial Operations Manager. Thank you, all, for the warm welcome!”

Jamie Hager, retiring after 24 years with WashU, is looking forward to becoming a stay-at-home “MiMi” to her grandchildren.

Jamie Hager is retiring after successfully heading our billing office for 17 years.  She has been with WashU for 24 years.

As her family gets ready to welcome their third grandchild, Jamie says, “I am so lucky to get this opportunity to stay home and take care of this little one. I joke that I get to be a ‘stay-at-home’ MiMi!”

Leaving is bittersweet, however. “I will definitely miss all the great people I work with and the friendships built over the years,” says Jamie. “I truly appreciate Jodean Baldauf’s leadership and support all these years.”

“I would like to give a big THANK YOU to my team for all their hard work and dedication. I will definitely miss my WashU Nephrology family.”

Jamie Hager

We thank Jamie for all she has done for the division and wish her a fantastic retirement. We will miss you!
