Please join us for the 3rd annual symposium hosted by the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences. This year’s theme focuses on the application of informatics tools and methods in a learning health care system.

The symposium will include a keynote address given by Patricia Brennan, RN, PhD, Director of the National Library of Medicine. In addition, the symposium will include plenary talks, skills-focused workshops, breakout groups, and a poster session. Posters will showcase the unique ways in which informatics tools advance research, academic training, clinical practice, and ultimately, patient health.

Symposium Schedule Overview:

8:30 am – 10:00 am “Tools of the Trade” skill sessions are designed to provide detailed information on a specific tool or service. Topics include REDCap, MDClone Synthetic Data Engine, and the secondary use of clinical data.
10:15 am – 11:30 am “Clinical Correlates” breakout sessions will illustrate how a clinical research team and informatics experts worked together to apply informatics tools to a research question. Topics include the use of REDCap, services provided by the Research Data Core, leveraging multi-site registries, and the creation of custom content in Epic.
11:30 am – 1:00 pm Poster session (lunch provided)
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Keynote speaker – Patricia Brennan, RN, PhD, Director of the National Library of Medicine
2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Ignite-style talks and panel discussion
