OISS offers in-person and virtual advising appointments for Scholars, and F-1 and J-1 Students. More Information and online booking is below.

Scholar Advising

ADVISING HOURS

Scholar advising is available via Zoom and in-person on the Medical Campus, Monday-Thursdays at select times, by appointment only.

No In-person scholar advising is available on the Danforth Campus.

Other Appointment Types include:

F-1 and J-1 Student Advising Walk-In Hours

An OISS Advisor will be on-call every weekday (except Tuesdays) from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. to answer quick immigration or WashU-related questions.

Just stop by the Alumni House and let the person at the front desk know you’d like to speak with an advisor.

F-1 and J-1 Student Advising Virtual Drop-In Hours

For the Spring 2024 semester, OISS will offer virtual drop-in hours on alternating Mondays from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.

Monday’s Zoom Link: January 8, January 22, February 5, February 19, March 4, March 18, April 1, April 15, April 29, and May 13.

All virtual drop-ins will be done through Zoom. You must have a Zoom account to log in. Registration is required. When you join, you will be placed in a waiting room. Advisors will meet with students one at a time. We see students on a first-come, first-serve basis.

All F-1 and J-1 Students have an assigned OISS Advisor who is an F-1 Designated School Official (DSO) or J-1 Alternate Responsible (ARO) who can provide immigration advice on your WashU Student Sponsored Visa. Students are assigned to OISS Advisors by their School and the first letter of their family/last name.
