Biography
Dr. Vladimir Kushnir joined the Gastroenterology Division at Washington University School of Medicine in 2013 after completing his advanced endoscopy fellowship at Washington University and Barnes Jewish Hospital. He received his M.D. degree from the The Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship through the Washington University School of Medicine at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
“My clinical practice focuses on diagnostic and therapeutic pancreaticobiliary endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound; which allow for the minimally invasive treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the pancreas and biliary tree. An additional focus of my practice is the minimally invasive treatment of pre-malignant gastrointestinal diseases, such endoscopic treatment of Barrett’s esophagus (a precursor to esophageal cancer) and resection of large polyps throughout the gastrointestinal tract. These procedures play a major role in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal disorders, and over the past two decades have revolutionized the field of gastroenterology.
My research interests include diagnosis and treatment of biliary strictures, endoscopic treatments for obesity, novel therapies for Barrett’s esophagus, and sedation during endoscopy.”
