M*Modal Fluency Direct and CAPD will be introducing Auto-Launch in VDI Environments in the upcoming weeks. M*Modal will automatically open for dictation and non-dictation users, as long as they have a M*Modal account. This will make it even easier to utilize this helpful tool!

Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS) Provider Tips

Did you know, first time enrollment and reenrollment with EPCS requires a valid, nonexpired government issued ID. Make sure you have this with you when you meet either virtually or in person with your Enrollment Supervisor.

Know your Epic Role - Take Epic1 End-User Training Classes Now
Classes running now through April 14, 2022
 

 

Important New E1E Academic End-User Training Dates to Remember:

  • Tuesday, January 18, 2022: End-User Registration opened and continuing.  Registration goals are to have reached 90 percent registration complete by last Friday, 2/18/22
  • Tuesday, February 1 - Thursday, April 14, 2022: End-User Training - Please note this revised class schedule represents a longer runway for end-users, offering flexibility and more opportunities to fit training into their schedules.

 

Special Notes:

  • Super Users and staff who took or completed training in December are encouraged to re-take their E1E Wave 2 classes from “Take 2 Observer” pathway to registering for a class. Click here for details on the Super User program and how to sign up for “Take 2 Observer” classes.
  • Patient Movement E-Learning Bundle should be completed by April 15, 2022.

Pilot: Discharge Follow Up Phone Calls

Intended Audience: Ambulatory, Anesthesia, Cardiology, ED, GI/Pain Management/IVF, Home Health and Hospice, Inpatient, Nurse, Oncology, Patient Access, Pediatrics and Women & Infants, Pharmacy, Provider, Radiology, Research, Surgery, Therapies and Case Management, Transplant 

 

To standardize the purpose of Discharge/Transition of Care calls and where they are documented, users* will begin using the BJC Discharge Phone Encounter when making follow up calls with discharged patients to see if they have any post-discharge questions or concerns.


*Users should check with their leader(s) regarding their involvement with this process.

Write Handoff/Handoff Report to Inpatient Spiritual Care users.

Intended Audience: Inpatient, All Ancillary Staff *

 

Click here to view the Tip Sheet on Using the Handoff Report. The Handoff report is available to all inpatient ancillary users (Case Managers, Social Workers, Utilization Managers, Dietitians, Respiratory Therapists, PT/OT/SLP, and Chaplains. The report is intended to help provide a handoff from clinician to clinician from shift to shift, from day to day, weekend coverage, etc.

 

* This is not new for other inpatient ancillary users (Therapists, Respiratory Care, Case Managers, Social Workers, etc), but is new to Chaplains/Spiritual Care users.

Cogito Corner - Donuts and Pie - Oh My!

Donuts and pie – oh my!  Unfortunately, we are not talking about yummy food, but we are talking about exciting new graph options in SlicerDicer.  Under the Visual Options section, click on the graph icon (1) and then click on “Graph Type” (2).  The Visual Options sidebar will now display on the right.  From there, you can select for your data to either be represented in a donut graph (3) or a pie graph (4).  You can also customize the graphs by clicking on the slice colors or changing the label style.
