E1E Admission Orders and Order Set Personalization Wave 3
 

Intended Audience: Providers 

 

On September 24, 2022, the transition from Soarian to Epic1 for hospital registration will go live at our Community hospitals.  Once live with Epic1, the “Assign Patient Status” order will go away and there will be new Admit orders to select for your patients. 

 

Work can begin as of June 8, 2022, to default check the appropriate new Grand Central admission order in your personalized order sets in preparation for the E1E implementation.

What are the E1E Roadshow & Patient Movement Days?

The Epic1 Enterprise (E1E) Roadshow & Patient Movement Days are a series of virtual demonstrations highlighting the new Epic applications and upcoming changes. It’s an opportunity to educate end-users and operational leaders about how integrated workflows will change once live with the new Epic applications on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

 

Focus is on complex and changing workflows, and patient movement and integrated system challenges. This includes an end-to-end patient scenario focusing on “Patient Movement” from the ED to discharge.

   

When? The E1E Roadshow & Patient Movement Days are Tuesday, June 21 and Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

All Epic1 Enterprise (E1E) Training Registration Opens in June
Virtual Demos on How to Register Staff Available for People Leaders
 

E1E Training registration opens at noon on the following dates:  

  • Monday, June 6, 2022 for Super Users
  • Monday, June 13, 2022 for End Users

People Leaders Can Attend Virtual Demo and Q&A to Learn How to Register Staff

Prior to registering team members for training, all managers will have two opportunities to

attend a virtual demo session designed to walk them through the training registration process,

how to create Epic1 training reports, as well as answer any questions real time.

Note: If you are new to Epic1 training then we highly recommend you attend a session or send a representative. While not required, these sessions are highly recommended for managers.

 

Managers can choose one of these two identical virtual training sessions being offered:

  • Tuesday, June 7, 10-11 am
  • Thursday, June 9, 3-4 pm

Nursing N.E.S.T: Did you know that Rover is more than just a device to take photos and receive ADT alerts?
 

Attention Nurses – Did you know that Rover is more than just a device to take photos and receive ADT alerts?  Rover can be used for several other activities in Epic,  eliminating the time it takes to find a computer, login and access Epic.

 

After you login to Rover for the day, you can access the app using a PIN to login for the remainder of the day. (see attached tip sheet)

 

Rover can be used for:

  1. Med Admin
  2. Flowsheet Documentation
  3. Photo Capture
  4. Communication/messages
  5. Patient Review
  6. Clinical Reference
  7. Reminders and push notifications

Rover iOS and Android Login uses continue to trend up since January – March had a combined # of users of 35,509 and April increased to 53,468.  The use of a PIN for login increased from 7,625 in March to 16,806 in April.  For nursing, the use of the multi-patient Brain went from 8,093 in March to 11,316 in April.

Cogito Corner: Introducing the Analytics Catalog – your one-stop reporting shop.

Introducing the Analytics Catalog – your one-stop reporting shop.  You can access all available reporting content by navigating to the Analytics Catalog.  First, click on the dashboard tab (1), then click on the title of your dashboard (2).  From here you can search for keywords.  Once you press “Show Catalog”, you can narrow down your search by only showing your favorites or your saved content (3).  You can also narrow the search by using the “Content Type” filters (4).  If you prefer to see all of your search results in a list form, instead of the card view, you can select “List” on the right side (5).  Try it out and see what reporting content you can find in the Analytics Catalog!

Continued Clean Up of the Analytics Catalog

In efforts to continue cleaning up the Analytics Catalog and improve user experience, Cogito will be hiding Crystal report templates that have not been viewed in over a year. This work will begin the week of May 30th. Due to 0 views in the past year, we do not anticipate any impact to users.

Updated Morse Fall Risk
 

Intended Audience: Inpatient, Nurse

Effective: 6/8/2022

 

Description: Starting 6/8/2022 the Morse Fall Risk assessment will include a Prior Fall Event row. This will auto-populate past fall events documented in Epic in the past 3 months. The Auto Low/High-if select proceed to interventions row will be removed. It will be required to document all elements of the Morse Fall Risk to determine a score for each assessment performed before proceeding to interventions.

Prep for Case Encounter Creation Department
 

Intended Audience: Ambulatory, Inpatient, Provider, Surgery

Effective: 6/8/2022

 

When using a non-hospital-based department (BJCMG clinic, WashU clinic, etc.) to create a prep for case encounter, there will be red text at the beginning of the prep for case navigator with instructions to pick a (SITE) Surgeon department where the case is being scheduled at by using the “Change Enc Provider/Dept” link. Updating your department to a (SITE) Surgeon will ensure the appropriate orders and order sets appear for that specific site where the case is being scheduled at. M*Modal Fluency Direct and Computer-Assisted Provider Documentation (CAPD) Tips and Tricks

There are multiple supported microphone options that can be used with the M*Modal Fluency Direct Application including two USB microphone models and the 3M Mobile Microphone Application which can be used on site in place of the USB microphone or at home while using a secure virtual environment.
