Morgan Schoer, MD, a first year fellow in the Division of Nephrology, has been accepted as into the ASN Policy and Advocacy Committee as an intern for 2022.
The committee helps shape public policy by advocating to the federal government for policies that benefit kidney patients and that increase funding for nephrology research and education.
“As an intern, I will participate in bi-monthly committee meetings, complete quarterly milestone projects, and attend major advocacy events during the year,” says Dr. Schoer.
Schoer earned her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. After completing her residency at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University, she entered the WashU Nephrology Fellowship Program in 2021.
Assistant Professor of Medicine Andrew Malone, MBBCH, is a current member of the committee; WashU Nephrology researcher Shayna Bradford, PHD, served as an intern on the committee in 2020.
